We take the wood from old, run-down barns and clean it up, ridding it of all nails and damaging polishes, in order to repurpose it to make beautiful rustic wood furniture. We do something similar in our business view, where we actually provide inmates a second chance, or a new purpose, in life.
It is just as important for all of us here at Raised in a Barn to make a strong impact on the community that surrounds us, as well as the world we all live in. As such, we are partnered with The Rock Found. The Rock Round is a faith-based non-profit organization founded outside Boulder, Colorado that focuses on creating a positive solution for inmates to re-enter into their communities. Working with parole offices in order to achieve the smoothest possible solution for this re-entry process, Raised in a Barn is a proud business partner that pushes this positive solution with those involved in making an impact in the community.

Just as every individual we help with our involvement in the inmate re-entry program has a unique story to tell, so does every piece of wood that we use for our rustic wood furniture. While driving through Boulder, Colorado and its surrounding regions it is not uncommon to come across a lonely, and often unsightly barn. Battered and weathered, these buildings are staples of the rural countryside and have all been, at one time or another, a central location for hardworking locals. We have always thought it important to make the best of the things already in our lives, and that is exactly what we have learned to do by repurposing these aged pieces of wood.
